It’s not the most common sight on the Bay: a 33-foot-long inflatable boat. But you can now buy one in Annapolis.
Brig Boats, one of the biggest makers of rigid-hull inflatables, has just announced its Eagle 10 luxury inflatable will be unveiled to the U.S. market this November.
The Eagle 10 is 32.5 feet, and features a deep-V hull to give a dry, smooth ride and twin 300-horsepower engines that will allow it to go 50 knots.
Big says rigid-hull inflatables (RIBs) are more stable, lightweight, and low-maintenance than traditional hard-sided cruising boats. The tubes are carbon-fiber, and Brig says with seven different chambers, the boat will remain seaworthy if a tube gets punctured in an accident.
The Eagle 10 seats up to 10 people, has a cabin with double bed, a sink that allows for an available fridge/stove combination, and an outdoor shower.
Brig, based in Ukraine, is the world’s largest manufacturer of RIBs over 10 feet long.
The Eagle 10 will be formally unveiled in the U.S. at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, from November 1 to 5. It’s availabile to order now, starting at $195,000.
Brig Boats are sold through three American distributors, including Sirocco Marine in Annapolis.
“Visitors to the Sydney International Boat Show were waiting in long lines to see the Eagle 10,” said Neil Webster, chief executive officer for Brig USA. “There is a growing demand for larger inflatables now.”
