Annapolis School of Seamanship Launches “Mini-Mariners” Summer Camp

Annapolis School of Seamanship (ASOS) is expanding its Jr. Captains program, ages 12-15, with another on-water program for the younger mariners in your life. Welcome to Mini-Mariners, the ultimate summer boating camp for kids, ages 8-11, who love the water! In this hands-on program, young mariners will captain their very own small boats equipped with electric motors, building confidence and independence as they explore the joys of boating.

In this new weeklong summer camp offered by the training pros at the Annapolis School of Seamanship, campers will learn the fundamentals of seamanship, including navigation basics, safety procedures, and the importance of teamwork on the water. They will develop essential boat handling skills, from steering and docking to maneuvering.

Most importantly, Mini-Mariners is all about fun! With exciting water-based activities and games, every day brings new adventures. Whether it’s navigating a mini course, exploring Spa Creek, or playing boating games, kids will leave with unforgettable memories and a love for the water.

This is a one-of-a-kind program in the Annapolis area for ages 8-11. Each dinghy will be manned by two Mini-Mariners, accompanied by a chase boat of certified ASOS Instructors. No prior boating experience needed—just a sense of adventure. Camp runs weekly and starts the week of June 2nd , Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 1-4 p.m.

Registration opens Friday, Jan. 17 at annapolisschoolofseamanship.com.
