This month, Captain Matt Benhoff of the Annapolis School of Seamanship explains who needs a boaters license and who should get the U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Certification aka a captains license.
Capt. Matt has been a full-time professional mariner for over 15 years and is a lifelong boater. A former boatswain mate in the U.S. Coast Guard, he is vice president at ASOS and teaches as an instructor there.
