UPDATE: Maryland Natural Resources Police located the woman safely anchored at about 11:25 p.m. She had no communications, but was not in distress.
The Coast Guard is searching for a 77-year-old woman, Eleanor Decesare, who was expected to arrive at the Hartge Yacht Yard in Galesville by 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Ms. Decesare’s son contacted Coast Guard Sector Maryland – National Capitol Region watchstanders Tuesday night after he was unable to reach her and the yacht yard did not see her arrive. He reported that she left from Eastport, Annapolis, aboard a 37-foot sailboat named Tamara.
Anyone with information that may help the Coast Guard locate Decesare or the sailboat are asked to contact the sector command center at (410) 576-2693.
