Crisfield Crab Pot Company Honored at White House

Heath’s Crab Pots, a longtime business on Crisfield’s Main Street, was recognized Monday at the White House.

Eddie Heath, who started the company back in 1973, represented the state of Maryland in an event showcasing American-made products and manufacturing.

The “Made in America product showcase” featured items made in all 50 states, and kicked off President Donald Trump’s “Made in America Week.”

ILC Dover, from Delaware, and the National Capital Flag Co., from Virginia, were two other regional businesses honored.

The White House streamed the event on Facebook Live, and Heath could be seen on camera with Vice President Mike Pence and President Donald Trump.

President Trump signed a proclamation highlighting the importance of supporting American workers and American industry.

The week’s events wrap up Saturday, when Trump will travel to Norfolk to attend the commissioning of the USS Gerald R. Ford, the first in the Navy’s new class of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers.
