Early Monday morning, fire broke out at James Creek Marina in Washington, D.C.
The D.C. Fire and EMS Department said two boats were involved in the fire on a dock at the marina where the Anacostia River, Washington Channel, and Potomac River meet.
Fire crews attacked the flames from land and from the water. Both boats are destroyed and are now submerged in their slips, but firefighters managed to keep the fire from spreading to adjacent boats.
Some unburned fuel spilled into the water, and DC Fire and EMS is now working with Coast Guard and the DC Department of Energy and Environment to clean up the fuel.
Investigators are now searching for the cause of this fire.
