Marine Life Day at VIMS’ Eastern Shore Laboratory

Join the Virginia Institute of Marine Science for a fun and educational day exploring marine life found along Virginia’s Eastern Shore! This event will showcase marine science research being conducted at VIMS’ Eastern Shore Laboratory. Guests will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of marine plants and animals in touch tanks and live displays, study creatures under microscopes, learn about marine science through hands-on activities and crafts, and discuss current research projects with scientists from various fields of study. Featured research and displays will include shellfish, crustaceans, fish, sharks, and much more!
This event is free, open to all ages, and takes place rain or shine. Registration is not required, but pre-registering online will provide you with access to the “fast lane” at the check-in table. The first 50 people to register online will receive a VIMS reusable shopping bag when they check-in at the event. Visit www.vims.edu/events to register.
