In conjunction with th e Water/Ways exhibit, Katie Livie will give a talk on ^’The Towns that Oysters Built: the Boom, Bust and Comeback of the Great Chesapeake Oys ter^’ from 5 to 6:30pm on Nov. 14 at the Dorchester Center for the Art s.
Livie is a writer and historian who has written extensively abo ut Chesapeake Bay culture, including her prize-winning 2015 book, Chesapeake Oysters: The Bay’s Foundation and Future. Founder and head creative at Alosa Communications, Livie is also adjunct facu lty at Washington College, and lives with her husband in her hom etown of Chestertown, Maryland.
The talk is free and open to all.
