Get a Sneak Peek of New Bohemia River State Park

This weekend is your first chance to check out a new waterfront park on the upper Chesapeake Bay.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources will hold an open house at Bohemia River State Park in Cecil County on Saturday, October 27. Everyone is invited to tour the property and share their thoughts on the Eastern Shore park. The Maryland Park Service will be on hand to answer questions, and shuttle service will be available to ferry visitors to and from the waterfront and other scenic areas of the park.

Bay Bulletin first told you about plans for the water-access park in June 2017. Click here for more on the land preservation project. The property offers public access for activities like canoeing, fishing, hunting, kayaking, trail use and wildlife viewing.

Saturday’s open house will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bohemia River State Park is located at 3864 Augustine Herman Highway in Chesapeake City.

Residents can offer comments or ask questions about the new park by contacting Fair Hill Natural Resources Management Area at 410-398-1246.
