Go Fly a Kite in Yorktown

With the warmer weather we’ve been craving finally on the way, what better way to enjoy it than to fly a kite with a waterfront view?

Yorktown is kicking off its Market Days for the season on Saturday, April 14, and it will end with Kite Day, a chance for families to borrow kites for flying, and watch kite demonstrations.

Yorktown Market Days will include a variety of vendors at Riverwalk Landing, live music, food trucks, and cooking demonstrations. It runs 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

This year, the market will participate in the USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to help ensure all families in our community have access to fresh fruits, vegetables, and other healthy food options.

Right after Market Days ends, Patriot Tours & Provisions will hold a Kite Demo and Gathering at Yorktown Beach for  the 7th annual Kite Day, from 1 to 5 p.m. Kite flyers can bring their own, or borrow a kite from the company. There will also be a face painter and crafts for kids. Patriot Tours will hold a drawing for one adult and one child to win a free kite.
