Regulator debuted its much-anticipated 32-footer at the Fort Lauderdale Show in October. Measuring in at 36.5 feet with the engines mounted on an Armstrong bracket and a beam of 10 feet 4 inches, the boat comes in at 10,500 pounds dry including engines. Fuel capacity is 300 gallons.

Yamaha’s performance bulletin indicates a cruising sweet spot at 3500 rpm hitting nearly 30 miles and just under 19 gallons per hour.

The 31 comes with a pair of Yamaha 300s, a huge fishing cockpit, an oversized tackle center and fish box, and even a dive door.

Besides the hard-core fishing accommodations, the boat includes a stand-up head compartment with an electric head and six-gallon holding tank, 74-quart insulated cooler, foredeck anchor locker, saltwater washdown system, 35-gallon freshwater system with a transom shower, and a flush folding transom seat. Options include custom-painted engines, Flexiteak decking, T-top, spray curtains, carbon fiber outriggers, sunbed table, bow thruster and a 700-watt entertainment package among other cool things.

“Our strategy for the 2017 model year was to find the sweet spot between the 28 and the 34,” said company president, Joan Maxwell. “And I believe we have achieved that with the 31.”

Regulator lays claim to “reinventing the deep-vee center-console concept and delivering a legendary ride,” and it’s fair to say that they have captured the attention and loyalty of many of the most demanding sportfishing boat owners in the country and around the world.
