The Coast Guard is searching for a 63-year-old sailor who disappeared Easter morning after his boat ran aground and started taking on water off Fort Norfolk on the Elizabeth River.
Paul Youngk was last seen aboard his sailboat Grafin, which took on water and eventually submerged Sunday morning. He was wearing blue jeans, a black jacket, and green shirt.
Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads said it deployed a rescue boat and a helicopter to search for Youngk. Virginia Marine Resources Commission, the Norfolk Police and Fire departments, the Hampton Police Department and Chesapeake Fire Department were all participating in the search as of 11 a.m. Sunday.
Anyone with information on the case should contact Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads on VHF-FM Channel 16, or at 757-638-6638.
