It’s an educator-led group reading and art project, presented by the Near Southeast Community Partners of Washington, D.C., for children 4 to 8 years old.

The family cruises take place on board on the historic M/V Half Shell, leaving from Yards Marina at 1492 4th Street Southeast. The Half Shell is a classic 1928 Chesapeake Bay buyboat that makes educational voyages in the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers.

Cruises run 6-8 p.m. every Tuesday, for a different environment-themed book each week. The first is The Lorax by Dr. Seuss.

Living Classrooms asks folks to register in advance. Please contact them at [email protected] or by phone at 202-779-0217.
