Maryland’s answer to Kentucky’s mint julep.

Maryland’s answer to Kentucky’s mint julep is an interpretive thing with
varying recipes from year-to-year since its introduction at the 1973 Preakness. Enjoy one or several on the third Saturday in May, or any other day. We like it this way.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces Rye Whiskey
  • 2 ounces Orange Juice
  • 1 ounce Lime Juice
  • 1 ounce Simple Syrup

Instructions:

  1. Combine ingredients in a shaker.
  2. Shake with ice.
  3. Strain into an ice-filled glass.
  4. Garnish with citrus and a cherry.
