An after-school program at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels is giving middle schoolers a chance to accomplish something most adults haven’t: building a historic Eastern Shore sailboat design.
They’ve been working all semester on the scow, anticipating a May launch. As Cheryl Costello reports, the students will walk away with skills well beyond hammer and nails. Watch below:
