VIDEO: Bay Boat Industry Rallies for Ian Recovery

Each year, the Annapolis Boat Shows fall around the busiest time in the Atlantic hurricane season. In 2017, it was Hurricanes Irma and Maria in the Caribbean. In 2019, Hurricane Dorian hit the Bahamas. Now in 2022, deadly Hurricane Ian has destroyed homes, boats, and marine businesses in Florida.

Here on the Bay, Ian’s worst impacts were several days of rain and high water levels, but boaters know it could have been much worse if the storm had taken a different track.

For the third time, show organizers have launched a fundraising relief effort called “Hands Across the Transom”. Cheryl Costello talks with boaters impacted by the horrific Category 4 storm. Watch below:
