We’re spoiled in the Bay region by relatively frequent spine-tingling air shows from the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Many were disappointed that the Blue Angels air show that usually runs during Naval Academy Commissioning Week was canceled along with the rest of the pageantry in Annapolis because of the coronavirus.
Over this weekend, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. got a glimpse at the jets after all, with the Air Force Thunderbirds flying in formation right along with them. It was a special route designed to salute healthcare workers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. Cheryl Costello got to watch the special flyover with some of the people working hardest to keep us safe.
