VIDEO: Boat Show Behind the Scenes

The 2018 Annapolis Boat Shows kick off Thursday, when the United States Sailboat Show takes over the city’s harbor. Builders use a mile and a half of floating docks to create the nation’s biggest in-water boat shows. They’ve been assembling the docks offsite for months, waiting to place them in the water just in time for the show.

Then hundreds of boats have to be navigated into their show slips. And when the Sailboat Show comes to an end, workers will have just three days to transform the space into the 700-boat United States Powerboat Show.

Cheryl Costello goes behind the scenes for Bay Bulletin to show us just how organizers accomplish all that.
