The 4th of July weekend is the peak of boating season. This year, the days leading up to the holiday were deadly on the Chesapeake Bay. In just the section from the Patapsco River to the South River, six people died on the water last week.
In the most recent case, a couple took a late-night jet ski ride, apparently struck a navigational marker, and both of them were killed.
