September 2, 1945 is etched in history as the date that Imperial Japan surrendered, effectively ending World War II. In “Operation September Freedom”, the nonprofit Dream Flights honors living WWII veterans with flights to remember aboard a war-era Boeing Stearman biplane. A couple of Eastern Shore veterans got to take their dream flights last week in Easton, Md. Cheryl Costello brings us the moving moments taking place high over the Chesapeake Bay. Watch below:
