VIDEO: Go 100 Ft. Under D.C. into Anacostia River Tunnel

The final segment of a massive project to re-route Washington D.C.’s sewage away from the Bay is now underway. For last five miles of the 13-mile-long Anacostia River Tunnel project, crews will be tunneling six feet at a time, 40 feet per day, for the next three years.

Cheryl Costello took a one-mile train ride underground to see the work in action 100 feet below the nation’s capital… and you’ll see, it’s a good thing she’s not claustrophobic. Watch below:
