The plane crash and amazing rescue just south of Annapolis made national headlines: a single-engine plane nosedived into Beards Creek, its pilot struggling on the ice as the plane sank. Neighbors witnessed the whole thing and saved the pilot’s life by kayaking out onto the ice to reach him.
One of those heroic kayakers was a retired Navy captain, who shows Cheryl Costello just how he managed to pull the man from the cold water, and tells why he thinks the pilot was the real hero in the incident. Watch below:
