On October 1, Maryland officially put in effect the first statewide ban on foam food containers. And there’s strong new evidence the ban will dramatically improve the harmful effects of foam in our waterways.
In Baltimore City, where polystyrene containers have been banned for a year, the Inner Harbor’s trash wheel has seen a 40 percent reduction of foam trash in the water. Cheryl Costello finds out why this is so important for the Bay and its critters. Watch below:
