VIDEO: New Technology Improves Oyster Monitoring

There must be a better way to monitor oysters—a crucial hallmark of health in the Chesapeake Bay. That’s the idea fueling a partnership between Chesapeake Bay Foundation and aerospace company Northrop Grumman.

30 engineers on six different teams have been experimenting with laser, acoustic, and photographic sensors to see which works best for measuring the health of oyster reefs.
