A major proposal is on the table in Maryland to designate every waterway in Anne Arundel County a “No Discharge Zone.”
That means in all 13 tributaries, from Stoney Creek to the West River, discharging even sanitized sewage would be illegal. It seems like a no-brainer, but may prove frustrating to boaters who have invested in costly sewage treatment systems.
Before the plan is put up for approval, the public gets a chance to voice their comments at a series of community meetings. Cheryl Costello explains what is at stake. Watch below:
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources will hold public meetings for questions and comments, beginning Wednesday, August 14. Times and locations for all three meetings are below:
