The Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC), on the Rhode River in Edgewater, has a secret weapon when it comes to educating the public about our ecosystem. “Pepper” the robot can teach you all about the Bay, take a selfie, and even dance with you. Incredibly, local high schoolers are helping program Pepper, allowing the robot teacher to carry on conversations with the public.
