Tangier Island, one of the Chesapeake’s unique cultures, isn’t the easiest place to visit. You need a plane, a boat, a friend with a boat, or a ferry ride to get there. But you’ll soon be able to experience it from home thanks to the Chesapeake Conservancy’s Bay virtual-mapping project.
It works like Google Earth, but for waterways. And for the first time, the map project will capture an entire island. Cheryl Costello shows us how it works. Watch below:
