VIDEO: Walmart Adds Eastern Shore “Smart Pond”

Maryland leaders are touting it as the “stormwater management of the future.” A drainage pond outside a Walmart near the Wicomico River will self-regulate stormwater runoff to keep sediment pollution out of the Bay. The project underway in Fruitland, just south of Salisbury, is one of four Walmart and Sam’s Clubs stores in Maryland that will have smart ponds. Cheryl Costello reports, this stormwater solution could turn up in more pollution-sensitive spots down the road. Watch below:
